.IT Domain Name Registrations

Introduced in 1987, Italy’s .IT country-code domain extension is really popular both locally and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for building inventive and appealing domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to have an easy-to-learn domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to return to your website or to share it with colleagues and friends. The extension can also be used for a website, which is connected to the information technology sector having in mind that IT is an abbreviation, which is well-known all over the world.

Bearing in mind the fact that dot IT domains are not sold directly by IT-NIC, the Registry organization that administrates this top-level extension, such a domain can be reserved through a third-party service provider, such as ours. We will manage the registration process for you and take care of submitting your application to the Registry. You can obtain a dot IT domain for no more than 1 year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to us and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been finished. The only requirement is that the person booking such a domain needs to be situated in a country, which is a member of the EU.

As there are existing 2nd-level Domains that include names of different territories and localities in Italy reserved for local 3rd-level registrations, new names that consist of geographical areas of any sort are not allowed on any level to avoid any future confusion. We do not offer such third-level domains, though, given that they can be registered only by locals.
